Leveled Reading Lesson: 4-6 students

  • Student Age: 3-10 years old
  • Student Background: Children who can fully participate in classes taught in Chinese, have strong listening and speaking abilities, and frequently use Chinese at home.
  • Learning Objective: To improve listening, speaking, and writing skills through reading, while expanding vocabulary.

基础中文课: 4-6 人

学生年龄:3-10

学生背景:可以接受80%的授课语言为中文,日常听说能力较弱,在家偶尔使用中文的孩子

学习目标:提高听说读写基础能力


Regular Lesson: 4-6 students

  • Student Age: 3-10 years old
  • Student Background: Children who can handle 80% of instruction in Chinese, Novice level listening and speaking abilities,  and occasionally use Chinese at home.
  • Learning Objective: To strengthen foundational skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

口语表达课: 4-6人

学生年龄:5-18岁

学生背景:中文零基础,在家不使用中文的孩子  

Conversational Lesson: 4-6 students

  • Student Age: 5-18 years old
  • Student Background: Children with no Chinese learning experience and who do not use Chinese at home.
  • Learning Objective: To develop conversational skills in Chinese.

Leveled Reading Teaching Methods (教学方法)

 

教学方法上,运用美国公立小学流行的Amplify CKLA 阅读教学法,并结合中国文字特点,开创中西结合的C-Amplify CKLA 中文科学阅读教学法


In terms of teaching methods, we utilize the popular Amplify CKLA reading instruction method used in American public schools, and integrate it with the unique characteristics of Chinese characters to create the C-Amplify CKLA Chinese Scientific Reading Method, combining the best of both Western and Chinese approaches

 教材选取上,现阶段整合所有国内编撰的中文分级阅读和国内人教版小学语文教材,启蒙阶段以一亩宝盒,洪恩分级阅读子集为主要学习资源,小羊上山和迪斯尼为辅助资源,中高级引入国内人教版语文教材,根据学生具体情况节选章节。

1-2年后,争取采用自编教材教学。

For the selection of teaching materials, we currently integrate all domestically developed Chinese leveled reading resources and the People's Education Press (PEP) Chinese textbooks used in elementary schools in China. At the introductory stage, the main learning resources include Yi Mu Bao He and Hong En Leveled Reading Subsets, with Little Lamb Climbing the Hill and Disney as supplementary resources. For intermediate and advanced levels, we introduce selected chapters from the PEP Chinese textbooks based on the specific needs of the students.


In 1-2 years, we aim to transition using self-developed teaching materials.

精品小班:4-6人一个班

趣味汉字:通过动漫视频,动漫字图,自创汉字故事,疯狂造句,故事中学,字卡游

                        戏等生动活动的方式学习汉字。

科学分班:结合语言水平和年龄综合考虑分班

读书会:定期举办读书会,故事会等俱乐部活动。(目前在筹备中文小型图书馆中)

文化活动:定期举办各种文化节日活动,家庭活动,学校运动会等亲子活动。

口语表达有方法:教学活动中引入皮影戏,木偶剧等活动激发故事性口语表达

适龄拼音课:5岁不教拼音,学习完英文自然拼读后才开始学习

Program Features:

  • Leveled Reading: The first Chinese language training institution in the Greater Washington area to implement a leveled reading system.
  • Small Class Sizes: Classes of 4-6 students for personalized attention.
  • Engaging Character Learning: Students learn Chinese characters through dynamic activities such as animated videos, character illustrations, original character stories, sentence-building games, storytelling, and character card games.
  • Scientific Class Placement: Class placement is determined by a combination of language proficiency and age.
  • Reading Club: Activities such as reading clubs and storytelling are held regularly. (Currently preparing a Chinese small library.)
  • Cultural Activities: Regular cultural festivals, family events, school sports days, and other parent-child activities.
  • Oral Expression Methodology: Incorporating activities such as shadow puppetry and puppet shows to inspire storytelling and oral language expression.
  • Age-Appropriate Pinyin Instruction: Pinyin is not taught at the age of 5; students begin learning pinyin only after mastering English phonics.
